ATLANTA, Georgia - Lance J. LoRusso was designated a Lodge Attorney by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Kermit Sanders Lodge 13, which covers Cobb County and the surrounding areas. As a Lodge Attorney, LoRusso will respond to the needs of law enforcement officers, including response to the scene of officer-involved shootings.
This new role is in addition to his longstanding position as General Counsel for the Georgia State Lodge FOP.Lance is the founder of the LoRusso Law Firm, PC. As a litigation attorney, Lance focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense, catastrophic personal injury, healthcare law and business litigation. Since 1989, LoRusso has been a certified law enforcement officer. In addition to his two roles with the FOP, he continues to serve the police as an instructor for Georgia police academies and handles pro bono appeals as an Assistant Solicitor General for the Cobb County Solicitor General's Office.
Steven Gaynor, President of the FOP Lodge 13, remarked, "Lance was once a Cobb County Police Officer and worked hard to put himself through law school while working a police beat. He has walked the beat in our boots. This makes him the right person to respond to an officer-involved shooting situation because he knows firsthand what stress and conflicts face an officer who has just been forced to shoot someone and possibly take that person's life."
The LoRusso Law Firm represents the business community and healthcare systems through litigation with a strong emphasis on litigation prevention. In addition to on-scene response to critical incidents, the firm offers reduced law enforcement rates for wills and probate matters as well as for officers and their families injured in motor vehicle collisions and other incidents.
